Orongo Declaration Towards Heritage Tourism sustainability



Javier Ramírez Hinrichsen, Chile ICOMOS member and professor of Fine Arts at the University of Concepción, joins the Regional Bureau Regional Sustainable Tourism, which will be on Monday May 9 at 10:30 am Department of Architecture at the Regional.
The Board is convened by Katherine T. Echaiz, Regional Director of Tourism (Ministry of Economy) and Juan Eduardo King, Regional Director of the Council for Culture and Arts of the Bio Bio Region. At this first meeting will define the objectives of the Bureau Work Plan 2011 and the realization of Regional Seminar on Sustainable Tourism and Culture.

This reference is part of the public policy of CNCA from which we try to advance in the consolidation the concept of sustainability associated with cultural heritage, not only in an economic sense, so that its protection constitutes an integrated and joint working in civil society, state and private enterprise. For which it sets itself the task of implementing the National Plan for Cultural Tourism. Seeks to direct attention and, together with relevant entities, the processes of assessment of heritage sites, historical, archaeological and natural, development proposals that cover the best practices existing in the country and international experience in this regard.
